So who was Yankee Bill anyway?
Yankee Bill, a nickname for William Lewis, was a key figure in the early days of Yankee Springs, Michigan. Arriving around 1835, this Eastern transplant (likely from New York, hence the "Yankee" moniker) saw an opportunity along the major route connecting Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and Battle Creek. He established a much-needed stop for weary stagecoach travelers in 1836. While not a luxurious hotel, Yankee Bill's Inn, a collection of log cabins built into the hillside, offered basic but comfortable accommodations. His hospitality was renowned, with the inn able to house up to 100 people and stables for 60 teams of horses.
We strive to continue Yankee Bill's hospitality by offering you a place to stop, relax, and unwind during your travels today. Come on in. Take a load off. Do you take reservations?
Yes, we do take reservations for 12 or more ONLY Monday through Thursday! Give us a call to get your table reserved for your party. We look forward to seeing you!
Do you offer online ordering or DoorDash/Uber Eats?
No, we do not offer online ordering or services such as DoorDash/Uber Eats. One of the reasons we love our job is that we get to know our customers. Please give us a call for pick up order or come on in and see us!
Is there a TV in the restaurant?
We do have TV's up in the main bar area for you to check on your favorite sports teams while you're with us!
Do you allow pets?
No, pets are not allowed in the restaurant or on the patio for your safety and sanitary reasons. If they do travel with you and you stop to visit us, they will need to wait in your vehicle while you dine in. Please feel free to order take out if you do not want to leave them in your vehicle.
